I am in a different time zone from my camera. (1 hour ahead)
Got a trigger, human.
Play Event, yes the Event is perfect correct time.
But
I want see further after event. I went to Device PlayBack from Live page.
The Playback has correct orange and time mark but no activity … human.
the problem is Eufy app used current time of my ios device . so it is the wrong place.
I need to manual dial one hour later to get the clip.
Eufy App should have used the Cameta time instead of viewing device time .
If you see same problem Android or ios.
send in. feedback problem. so they will fix.
This is wild that Eufy hasn’t fixed this yet. I traveled to a different time zone for two weeks last month and the entire time, I would get notifications for events but I wouldn’t actually be able to view the recording and the events page would be blank for all my cameras.
Forcing the time zone on my phone to match my home time zone shouldn’t be an acceptable work around.
What’s the point of security cameras if we can’t view events when we’re actually far away from home?
I have just discovered this issue. I am travelling and could not figure out why events were not recording. They will record when the date is the same in both countries but as soon as the date is different events are not recorded. I can view them once from the notification alert but then they are lost. I have also emailed support about the issue.
I’m literally having this issue as I type this. I’m based in the U.S. and I’m currently in Hong Kong. I have a pet sitter, but I cannot watch the clips from her last visit. Why? Because it says that the clips occurred between 10:30-10:40PM. The problem is that it’s confusing the date one my phone (Hong Kong time) with the date of the cameras (U.S Pacific). It thinks the events occurred on Aug. 18 because that’s where my phone is. But the time the events occurred are based on Aug. 17 because that’s where the cameras are. Right now it’s 1:18pm Aug. 18 in Hong Kong. So for me to see the events, I have to wait until 10:30pm here. Crazy.
I don’t know if this would work or is some kind of work around but, you could try changed your phones setting of the time zone manually to match where your camera is located, temporarily to see if you can view the videos then.
Screenshot is for Android, I would think IOS has this option also.
Yes if I change my iPhone timezone to match that of the camera locations, then I am able to see the recorded events. Someone else had mentioned this in this same thread so I was aware of this option. However, I wouldn’t consider this as a viable workaround since you need your phone to maintain knowledge of your present timezone for various other reasons: keeping appointments, meetings, just knowing the time without having to convert it to the new timezone.
It shouldn’t be difficult to maintain separate time zones for the cameras and for your phone and still being able to record/watch recorded events. I’m saying this as a software developer with knowledge on how this can be done from a low level perspective. Not sure why eufy is having trouble accomplishing this.
Now I’m using two phones. My wife’s phone for maintaining our current time zone and my phone for watching recorded events from our cameras. Not good.
