Alexa routines not being triggered

Hi,
I have a bunch of Alexa routines to do actions when my 2C cameras detect motion, but they are not working anymore. If I manually run them, they work. But when the camera detects motion I receive the notification via Eufy app and then the routine is not triggered. I have tried to disable and enable the skill in Alexa, to remove and add the camera and to delete and create a new routine. Have you been having the same issues in since Friday?

I have the exact same problem. We’re you able to fix it? My routines stopped working sometime last Friday.

No, but I opened a ticket with the support and they are investigating the issue!

Answer from Eufy support:

Previously, our Eufy security system’s compatibility with Alexa was not very stable, in order to fix this problem, our back-end engineers temporarily shut down Alexa’s motion detection push function, and we are so sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.

Our engineers are actively optimizing our system, and this function is expected to reopen at the end of June, please wait for a while.

Haha! Back-end Engineers.

I got the same response. but no word on when it will be fixed. So annoying they crippled my routines and there’s no other way around it. The eufy app only allows for very basic automation.

Is there any news on this?

Registered just to ask about this, was hoping to use this to have my doorbell trigger my outside light.
Hope they get it fixed soon.

Have the same situation and issue as OP. Use the motion detect and routines to keep my echo shows active at night as a baby monitor. This stunt has crippled my ability to monitor my children at night. How can we find when the link will be reestablished?

All, anyone have any further update on this issue? Still not working for me.

Eufy support told me that Alexa is coming back in September!

Did they? Let’s see! For something that you think should be straight forward they do seem to mess things up and take a long long time to make any firmware fixes….

Still not happening. Any further updates?

Hi, same here. Yesterday, I’ve received a 2K cam. I tried to run any kind of routine based on camera motion sensor and the result is a total failure. Cam work properly, the own app also, but Alexa “integration” is broken.

Very dissapointed with the result.

Waiting for alexa intigration to be fixed too.

I’ve got the same issue - hope they resolve soon.

This is ridiculous- the claim that it integrates with Alexa was the reason I bought The cameras. To have a fundamental function disabled for months because their engineers need to ‘optimise’ their back end systems is NOT acceptable. Any reputable company will take their systems off line for a couple hours at most, not months. If this feature does not reappear very soon, I’ll be sending the whole lot (4 cameras and base station) back to Amazon for a refund. Claiming ‘Connect your devices to Amazon Alexa for complete control over your surveillance’ is a lie and false advertising. Saying your product does something when in fact it does not is in contravention (in the UK at least) of the consumer rights act 2015 - it is not fit for the purpose for which it was sold.
Eufy need to step and fix this before their reputation is completely destroyed.I for one won’t be making any more purchases with them until they fix the products I’ve already bought.

Just got this reply ftom eufy today…

Upon further analysis of our specialist, I have just been informed that eufy cam 2c is unable to trigger routines in Alexa currently. Also, the notification feature in the Alexa has been paused since it remains highly volatile to trigger/alert. For a better user experience, our engineer team is now working on this issue and try to optimize it with a firmware upgrade in the future. But now it’s still too early to say yes or no to the integration. Please stay tuned for our latest news. In your case, it is recommended to use our eufy security app to trigger routines and push notifications.

Gotta love it. While I enjoy the quality, ease of setup, and lack of monthly pricing from this company, their integrations suck. First they claimed IFTTT, then they say “facial recognition” which is a lie and false advertisement. Now, they say Alexa and Google Home compatible, but the integration is next to useless. Especially with them randomly disabling features without telling people. I found the only way Google Home is supported is by using the Nest hub…way to explain that and now after trying to setup Alexa instead, I see this forum.
