SoloCam S40 - Was there a plastic film on the solar panel?

I’ve had a S40 in our backyard since release. Today I noticed what looked like a film delaminating from the solar panel. I don’t remember a plastic film on unboxing. Was there one that should have been removed, or did something else start to delaminate from the panel?

FWIW, I never had issues with charging

Mine is doing this too. Is this a defect?

Same issue. Why isn’t Eufy responding with clarification?

Yup. Mines starting to do this too

Mine is peeling after @ 6 to 8 months; still functional though.

Mine also starting to peel after around 6 months. Really disappointing from Eufy that there is still no response on this. Keen to know if this is a defect - or if we should be actively trying to remove the residual covering (and how?). I am leaving it till there is advice…

3 of my 7 cameras did this and it eventually all peeled off on its own but there still charging and working. I not really worried about it.

Ditto. Happened on both of mine about 6 months after install. Support said to send them back they’ll replace. I questioned if the same thing will happen again, if so, I’ll just live with it. They assured me that these are newer/better and it won’t happen. Did the exchange, film deteriorated in even less time.
