Security Sensor for Open Door?

Hi all! I have a Eufy door lock on my front door that I have almost setup; configuration failed because the deadbolt pocket/hole on my door frame isn’t deep enough. Regardless, I haven’t been able to play around in the app as a result but am wondering if I could install a contact sensor on another less used door that would alert me not just when the door opens or closes but when it stays open (i.e., “door ajar”). Primary goal is to know if and when door gets left open so dogs don’t run out into street without having to spend as much money. Any thoughts or better ideas for what I am trying to accomplish? Thanks in advance for your help!

The Eufy Entry Sensor will do what you need but you need a Homebase to go with it in order for it to talk to the app. It has the ability to send notifications on open, close, and check at multiple specifed times each day for open.

The sensors are $30. Homebase 2 isn’t usually sold by itself, but you can find them on Ebay for around $75 or you might be able to contact Eufy and see if they have any they will sell you.

I have 6 entry sensors and 2 motion sensors on my system and they work great. You can use them to trigger cameras, sirens, or just notify, depending on what devices you have.
