Question on a new eufy setup

I’m considering setting up a eufy security camera setup at our new house.

I’ll have a centrally located modem with easymesh repeaters at the front and back of the house which will be ~10m away but I plan to use ethernet to connect to the repeaters.

Thinking of setting up a Homebase 3 at where the router is and will have 3x E340 floodlight cameras on the front, back and side of the house:

And two security wall lights at the front:

I just read that eufy cameras connect to the Homebase via their own wifi network:

If so, I suspect my homebase’s location will only be good to reach two of the floodlight cameras and probably not the front cameras. Some are probably ~15m away and communicating through brick veneer.

That eufy forum post above mentioned that there is a “multibridge” option that allows the cameras and homebase to communicate to each other via my home wifi network if the direct wifi connection between them is bad. This may solve my issue. Does anyone know if this function is now active with the e340 and the wall light cam?

Any suggestions to make the setup work better?

There is only one camera model that supports multi-bridge. Thats the E330 Pro model. Eufy may include other models in the future, but do not buy any Eufy product today based on their promise of future functionality. They have a long history of broken promises.

I have 2 Floodlight Cam E340’s and they support multi bridge.

Cheers for confirming this.

I was afraid I’d have to buy a second Homebase 3 or rely on the built in storage for the front 3 cameras. The point of the Homebase 3 for me is to store videos inside the house rather than use the built in/microSD card storage.

A further question about the E340 floodlight camera and the wall light security camera… if the connection with the Homebase is disrupted, will it record to its internal storage first and upload to homebase when wifi is re-established?

To get coverage for my house I had to buy a second Homebase 3. Both Homebase units and the devices show up on the one Eufy app so works OK.

The Homebase units connect to my mesh wi-fi and individual devices connect to whatever Homebase is in range.

Don’t know anything about the wall light cameras but as I said the Floodlight Cam E340s support multi bridge so they connect either directly to the HB3 or to your home WiFi, whatever provides the best connection.

What if wifi drops off completely and direct connection with the homebase isn’t an option also?

Do you know if it’ll record to internal storage as a temporary solution and upload when wifi/the homebase is available again?

Sorry but I have no idea.

No problem mate. It’s a small problem at the end of the day

An update and some follow up questions…

The E340 floodlight cameras and S100 wall lights have been installed. They work OK and I’ve set up activity zones so that the alarms don’t go off every time someone walks along the footpath infront of my lot or a car drives past.

However, we’re still finding a lot of people trespassing onto our property and they don’t seem deterred by the alarm. Is there any way of making the alarm go for longer? I cannot find any controls to customise the alarm duration.
