New Floodlight Cam E340 won't show live view

Hi Folks,

I bought the E340 today and followed the quick start guide.

I have a very good wi-fi signal throughout the house and beyond because I have a mesh system.

I intend to mount the E340 on the exterior wall of the garage above the panel door at a height of approximately 8 ft.

I set up the camera as instructed and connected to the wi-fi. The signal strength is showing “great” in the Eufy phone app. I also inserted a 128 GB card.

No matter what I try I can’t get a live view and the camera keeps going offline.

Do you think the E340 is faulty out of the box or haven’t I set it up properly?

Router model? Check if transmit power at 100%
How many devices?

Internet speed.

Is 2.4ghz good?

How far away? Too far , you need a repeater …

Any metal , walls between camera and Router?

What kind of viewing device, ios or Android? You need local network ON for Eufy app if ios18

Hi,
Thank you so much for your reply.
My ISP is Belong and I have never tinkered with their router.
I’m on NBN25 which streams HD video flawlessly.
As mentioned, I have a mesh Wi-Fi set up which switches automatically between 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz depending upon the device.
I don’t have any metal walls and the signal strength at the E340’s installation location is 96%.
The Eufy app is installed on an Android phone.
By the way, I have an existing Eufy system with 3 cameras connected to a homebase 1 which is not compatible with the E340.
The existing system works fine.

You might try static ip assign to the camera.
Use 5ghz only.

Isp modem with built in router are usually poor performance. Try a separate router and bridge your modem.

If still not working call up Eufy to see if they have suggestions

Isvyour Android device capable to watch 3,k video?

Thanks again but that’s way too technical for me
Bizarrely I have managed to get the camera working by connecting to a weak Wi-Fi channel and not the mesh channel. Their signal strengths are 44% (2.4 GHz) and 96% (5.0 GHz) respectively.
So it appears that 2.4 GHz is better but I can’t select that in the app and I can’t change it to 2.4 GHz in the mesh settings.

Best is to fix to a single frequency if you can.

Since it is 3k , 5ghz has better speed than2.4ghz .
Also, make the freq has less devices on that frequency.
