I'm Done Here! Returning!

That is untrue. They profile you. If you post negative things about China, try going on holiday there

Well, well, well. Typical Eufy!!! Today I see a pending refund for the devices returned. Problem!!! It’s just a little over half of what they owe me! I even sent them a printed email of the amount. These people are f’ing idiots from the top to the bottom.

I’ll let you know how THIS goes.

Did they just offer you to return it all? Or how did you go about that?

@Haadsecure I had the same issue today as well clearly walked in front of my camera and no triggered event at all.

It was via email to support. I had some issues and we were getting nowhere. I said I want my money back. They said in this case we will give you a refund and they sent me a shipping label.

I’m having. Issues with it as well.

I had purchased one camera on Amazon and they put that refund in. They only owe me about $150. Fingers crossed. They said 5-7 business days for that one.

I have received the last of my refund. I guess I’ll call it quits here. I might still read a little, but I will quit posting. Good luck folks. Hopefully things will get better.

@jmiller148 Any thoughts on the switch since you left. I am basically leaving this horrid security system To many issues and faulty problems with the software.

Example Of What I am saying.

To any one having issues with Anker or Eufy products wink wink Possibly could be held liable as seen with this Amazon case…

Yeah I’m fucked. Because I purchased the second one from Best Buy. I mean i could just do a warranty swap on it all and sell it off but at this point. I just have to eat it and ride the wave with the rest of you. @jmiller148 got lucky to get out when he did.

Bestbuy do refunds no questions asked. When did you buy it?

14 days window. I’m at a little over 40 days on the second one. The manager of Eufy email said I’m you have to essentially take it up with them. I’m in other words F’d just riding the waves with you all.

Dang, I have 45 days returns at Bestbuy since I blow so much cash on tech each year.

They had member pricing for a ring pro, with a chime pro and a free echo show 5, all for $200 this week, I snatched their hand off.

Thoughts compared to eufy?

Shouldn’t really get into that on a well moderated Eufy forum :). I really didn’t want to be anywhere near Ring and any subscription fees and overpriced hyped gear, that’s where At the beginning of the month Eufy was the one for me. I’m sure there are many disgruntled ring owners, depending on their set ups. Battery cams vs wired isn’t an equal playing field, but since you asked…

After I tried to get the results I wanted and couldn’t I thought maybe my expectations were too high, so I went to gather data for myself. Ring/amazon/bestbuy had some awesome deals so I dived in. A ring pro with a ring chime pro, an echo dot and an echo show 5 were all in a bundle price for $180, $430 worth of normal (high) priced gear. Absolutely couldn’t resist. The flood cam was $210 with a free echo show. These were lower prices than I’d paid for the 2c and Eufy doorbell, they were ‘on sale’ but those sales roll round a bit and I think it’s still on until Labor Day. The bundled offers seem to change more often. The reason I mention this is that at a time when the ring pro is $250 alone I would not have bought Ring, but for $180 (when I bought it it was $200 but it dropped $20, which they price matched when I was in there picking up something else a couple of days later) it was game on.

I tested the cams side by side and the doorbells side by side. My lady loved it… (not). In the pic there’s 2 Eufy doorbells, the newest Ring 3 plus and the Ring pro.

2c vs flood cam wasn’t a fair comparison light output wise (the ring is a flood, the 2c is a pen light, different design/use case) so just on detection and image I compared them.

The image quality on the 2k doorbell and also the audio is better than Ring, the audio recording is remarkably better. The pre-roll on the 3 plus is better than nothing, it records a few seconds in black and white and at a lower resolution before it kicks into color and hd, not bad for a battery cam, it doesn’t work at night, there’s no color night vision option. After I saw what the ring pro did I will never again imagine life without pre-roll and constant power.

The Eufy facial recognition (while not complete) is a very nice feature and sometimes it is so accurate it is scary good. The pet recognition on my indoor cam that points out of a window is endless fun for my dog and therefore me, set up so it calls to him when it detects him in the back garden. Eufy takes these things hands down, reigning champion.

I also bought into the eco system, got 4 solar path lights with a bridge, a Ring porch bulb, step light and of course the echo show for live feeds.

The pre-roll feature On the wired flood light cam and ring pro is beyond amazing. The recording On the pro shows back BEFORE anyone opens the door to leave, it is the whole picture, you hear them opening the door and walking out before you see them. That translates to a fuller picture of events on the other side of the door, the camera is already seeing you and what you are doing before it triggers alerts and recordings. The flood cam works the same way, every time.

The customization and integration is light years ahead with Ring/Amazon (even the path lights and step lights have effective motion sensors that can be tied to alerts, camera recordings and other lights), it’s an unfair position really, but they spent the big money on doing it. The ecosystem is apparent and getting bigger. Someone rings the doorbell, the live feed comes on my echo shows automatically, not just an announcement, the live feed…

I tested event after event after event. I’ve had 28 Amazon deliveries in August, plus 10+ delivered meals for various family members per week (apparently there’s a pandemic which makes them find another reason not to cook at home) and all the normal kid/friends/dogs coming and going. The Eufy stuff is awesome 85% of the time. It’s a passing grade, but for what it’s supposed to do, it’s a fail. Since the Ring cams were up, they never missed a beat.

The ring wired cams also have a time lapse snapshot function, which I have set at 30 second intervals. What that does in combination with the pre-roll is give you that full picture of everything that happens before and after an event. Someone sits on the drive or street for 20 minutes before they get out, the screen shot gets it, shows where they went before they tripped the cams and where they go after. It’s fascinating just to watch the screen shots show a sunset or sunrise or just street movement.

Upshot is this: all the Eufy stuff is in a box waiting to be dropped off at Kohl’s tomorrow for Amazon returns. I will trust the indoor cam to catch my dog romping out the back 85% of the time, that’s for fun. But for other things where consistency/trust/reliability are concerned… The ring 3 plus is also boxed up and ready to go back, it just doesn’t hold up to the pro, despite being the latest and greatest.

Now I have seen what time lapse and pre-roll do to my feeling of ‘security’ I’m on the hook for the $6 a month for 2 cams that Ring are going to get from me when my trials expire, but that’s worth it to me. Didn’t want to be this way, but based on the last month of testing, it’s the way it is. Solidly.

There’s no point in better audio and 2k video in a missed event. None. I’m still a proud indoor cam/novelty pet toy owner.

Personally, I think my Eufy battery powered but wired (via ring adaptor plug) doorbell integrated with echo dot is doing well.

Delayed response in firing up the video but I personally think they are all like that. And it all depends on many variables for speed and clarity etc etc.

I bought the echo show 8, so let’s see how that works with it. I’m guessing that will be delayed too but…so what they are all the f’in same.

Maybe we need gigabit internet, a 5g phone with a 50 core CPU and really good app from Eufy with good code on all their products for it all to work smoothly

I just have 150mb internet speed with 4 Apple Airport Extremes (6th generation last model). Got those for $50 bucks a piece used. Still a slight connection display but seconds as in less than 3-4. But it’s quick.

Just think mesh with my approach. Wi-Fi 6 and 6e the newer version to come. Is a big boost to this but after testing netgear mesh stuff I had taken it back because of too many firmware issues and inconsistent reliability.

@Topshelferok thanks for the input. As for highly moderated. It’s just basically done buy us users. The eufy staff response is just send an email to support commentary.
