Floodlight E340 does not detect motion

Hello,
Installed Floodlight E340 about 10 months ago. Was working well, till… a few days ago (is it linked to firmware update on Aug15th ? v4.8.81_1445 - meanwhile again updated to V4.8.82_1551 )

What doesn’t work anymore:

  • camera does not follow moving person or car
  • camera does not notify detection (probably because it doesn’t detect)
  • while in live stream, pushing orientation buttons (up, down,…) does not move camera and get message ‘done’ immediately
  • cannot set any of the 4 default positions as camera does not want to move.
  • cannot enable continuous recording

What still works :

  • camera can connect to Wifi
  • I can watch stream live on my phone with sound
  • zooming in/out
  • record the live stream
  • power on/off light via app works
  • I can format SD card
  • the camera can move because I see it move when forcing callibration

What I already tried :

  • resetting camera by long push on sync button
  • changing security mode (absent/at home)
  • reviewing all notification settings
  • changing camera movement speed (slow/fast)
  • reformatting SD card via app
  • do a callibration

Looks like you have done a lot so far, quite strange that only certain things will function.

I would try disconnecting / turn OFF the power supply to the Floodlight.
Then wait 10 minutes and power it back ON.

thanks for your reply. I did the power off/power on. no change. When I try to move the camera, app says “rotation has reached its limit”

Okay, you said you installed the camera about 11 months ago and it has a 12-month warranty I would contact eufy support so you have an open case with them, just in case you need a warranty replacement sent to you.

Let’s try a few other things, eject the SD card and see how the camera operates without it. (With no SD card 24/7 recording option is not available.)

Clear the apps cache. You’ll find that in your phone’s settings.

Check to see if the eufy Security app has a new update available.

as soon as I pull out the SD card, the camera was detecting movement again (i.e. I got notification on my phone), but no following done by camera… so progressing. As I switch phone in couple of days I will test with new app install if it helps further. I’ll keep feeding this post

One step forward, but still not good. Have you put a support claim in yet?

Does the calibration still work?

Try turning off auto tracking and then completely close out the app also remove it from recents.
Open the app and turn on auto tracking see if that helps.

Hi jd164, tried all of that, but still not a consistent working camera. I contacted their support and I am going to send back the camera for exchange/repair.
