My Eufy Homebase and cameras were working very well until the last two app updates. I have one SoloCam S340 and three E330, and also installed a 2TB HDD in the Homebase and run the Eufy Security app in my Samsung Android tablet.
After the update before the last one, one of the E330 cameras started behaving weird and alarming “movement”, even though it was only setup for people, cars and pets. It was working well before the app update. Then it started showing blank screens out of the blue.
After the last update, the Events app screen does not load any videos anymore and says it “failed to load video clips”. I keep receiving notifications but they are useless, since I cannot see any video clips.
So, it seems that the Eufy developers did not do a good testing job before releasing the last two Android app versions. Does anyone know how we can get previous Android app versions? I’ll uninstall the current one and go back to the previous one that was working fine until they fix this mess.
You can get previous versions on APKMirror.com. I have been using that site for about 3 years with no issues.
Note: the site will only show a bundle option for the 2 most recent versions. This will give you a lot of apps that you don’t want or need with the Eufy apk. The choices that say 2 variants have the single Eufy apk and the bundle separate. They only started the bundle only options lately.
Thanks! I’ll look for the single option. Based on my notes, the last version that worked well was 4.8.7_2132
The two later versions had issues.
Editing to add: I went to APKMirror and, as you mentioned, found two options for 4.8.7_2132.
However, it’s strange.
The “bundle” option file size is much smaller: 183.38 MB
The APK-only file is much bigger: 295.33 MB
I have the same issue. Can’t load video clips. But on my wife’s phone no problem at all. I have homebase S380, 2 solar cams and 1 dual doorbell.
Did you solve the issue and can you share the solution if solved. Thanks in advance
I updated with the last version last night and the Events section is working again.
Still having problems with one of the cameras, though. Somehow it’s triggering false positives and the video segments it creates have problems playing. I’ll write directly to Eufy’s support to check on that one. It looks like a bug they missed.
