Does the use of zone areas affect battery life.
Using zones should save battery power. When your motion sensor detects movement … it will then wake up the camera to have a look. Zones don’t matter for this part.
Once awake… if the motion is outside of the zone it should go back to sleep. This would save you power. If the motion is inside the zone it would then continue to record and save/notify you. This would use more power.
Many people that complain of reduced battery life will have something that the motion detector is picking up over and over. This makes the camera wake from sleep many times. This drains the battery. . But it may not record anything due to settings or zones.
