Check out this odd Eufy install

Pickup up a temp Covid job as an Amazon driver. ( my real jobs require crowds and human contact ). Get to see lots of weird camera installs. Here was one:

On a 90 degree city street corner… cams looking straight down the streets ( going against all rules of PIR motion detection) What are they looking for?

No homes around it had Eufy cams? Crazy

I wonder how you access the videos? I’m pretty sure they still record without a Wi-Fi connection.
 Perhaps someone parks underneath it and then creates a Wi-Fi hotspot with their phone then are able to view the footage…

They appear to be solocams. Is this legal in the US (I assume)?

Well that’s not legal to have mounted on that pole. If someone reported it they’d be taken down.

Yes. No cam restrictions here.

Every cam within range was Ring. Very expensive gizmo for sure. To watch nothing???

I think you are correct…. But why?

I don’t know? You’ll have to catch the guy that comes to wipe down the camera lens and ask him.
Odd thing about that street pole is… It’s made out of four pieces of 2x4s sandwiched together.
